WELCOME TO THE
You are standing in a room built to honour the greatest story ever told — the story of Africa.
Scroll down to journey through the civilizations, empires, and cultures that shaped the world.
THE VISION
The world was taught a version of history that left Africa out. They spoke of civilization as though it began in Greece, of art as though it began in Rome, of empires as though they began in Europe. They were wrong. Civilization began in Africa — and this room is dedicated to that truth.
Every element in this space tells a story. The terracotta walls echo the red earth of the ancient Benin Kingdom, whose bronze-casting masters created art that stunned the world. The deep green walls honour the forests and waterways of the Niger Delta — where the Urhobo, Itsekiri, Ijaw, and Isoko peoples built kingdoms on water.
The carved wood, the woven textiles, the warm golden light — all of it is a tribute to the hands that shaped Africa's greatest civilizations. From the pyramids of Kush to the libraries of Timbuktu. From the bronze heads of Ile-Ife to the Nsibidi script of the Igbo.
This room is a reminder that none of it was accidental — it was genius.
